I bought my first Dan Wesson back in the late 70's. It is a 357 mag Pistol Pac with 4 barrels, accessaries, and briefcase. It has a very nice shinny blue finish. I recently found a 41 mag with 8" and 6" barrels but it has a dull satin or flat black finish. My question is did the factory use this type of finish or has it been refinished. Sorry no pictures, i do not own a camera now, my Ex kept them all. It is a Monson gun in descent shape. Anyone have a ballpark idea on what it might sell for?

Welcome to the forum.
On Monson revolvers, the only ones I've seen that were not shiny blued were some nonadjustable rear sight .357s, which have a matte bluing. I am pretty sure a Monson .41 mag would have had the deep shiny bluing originally. Perhaps somebody had it Durakoted or something?
I cannot comment on value, I do not keep up with 41s very well, and if it has been refinished that will factor in. I do think a .41 in good condition will bring some money either way. 41s don't come around every day.
Sorry to hear that you have an ex. Been there done that.

Probably not factory finished but it depends on what is meant by matte. It could be a bluing that wasn't cared for well, or it could be re-coated as lonwolf stated. Maybe a Yukon coating/ Duracoat or some other. If the price is right- it wouldn't matter to me.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....
