Hey all, new here, and was hoping i could get a little help/info. I have the DW 715 pistol kit with the 4, 6, and 8 inch interchangeable barrels. Anyway, i have only owned it for a few months, and i bought it slightly used, from a reputable dealer. That said, i took it out to shoot only about 3 times, maybe firing about 100 rounds, give or take, in .357, and .38.
I didnt notice it right away, but looking back it does seem like it has done it from the first times i shot it, in that it seems to only fire 5 out of the 6 cylinders. At first i thought it was maybe a one off thing, or occasional, but after firing at the range 2 days ago, i can say it is happening every time. I havent pinpointed the exact cylinder yet, but i am sure i will be able too.
I am just doing a quick preliminary check now, to see if anyone here has had this issue as well? Does anyone know of a fix for this? Is it common, or did i get a dud. Before anyone says it, yes, i am definitely going back to the place i purchased it from, especially if i need too. With that said, although he is a "reputable" dealer, he is an as#$%ole, and i cant stand the guy. If anybody here is from the Sayreville NJ area, you KNOW who i am talking about.
Thats about it, if anybody else has dealt with there 715 or 15 only firing 5 out of 6 cylinders, i would love to hear from you. Any suggestions, fixes, questions, whatever, are greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Can you be more specific about the problem and describe what happens? For instance, from the starting point of completely loaded, when you start pulling the trigger in dual action, does it fire five times and then the trigger cannot be pulled? Does the cylinder jam? Does the hammer fall, but round does not fire?
Put a temporary mark on one of the cylinder chambers so you can tell if it is the same one or inconsistent across the range.

Actually, i did a little more research, and i think i located the problem. In answer to your question, everything does appear to work fine, from cylinder turning, hammer striking, and dual action, trigger, everything is fine. It would cycle through, cock, and hammer, every time, its just that on 1 of the 6 shots the hammer would not hit the primer hard enough.
I have found out that THIS is my issue. If i hand cock the hammer, single strike, it DOES fire every shot. Only in dual action does it not engage the primer on one of the cylinders. I am assuming in dual action the hammer is not pulled back far enough and doesnt give the primer as hard as a hit as it should. Thats why in single action by hand, which pulls the hammer back further, it does hit the primer on all 6 shots.
Again, everything "works", it cycles, cocks, strikes, but even after the hammer hitting the round as normal, it wasnt firing on only one of the rounds. I think if i add a stronger cocking spring maybe that will make the hammer hit harder especially in dual action.

Try backing out the grip screw so it doesn't interfere with the hammer spring.
Also the hammer spring might have been replaced with a lighter spring? If this is the case, you may want to order a new factory 9lb spring from DW. Email Genny@cz-usa.com to order parts.
