I just bought my first Dan Wesson at my local LGS. I have decided to buy some guns that I wanted to have but never owned. I have been going thru this forum getting info. So now I have some questions.

I believe I have a Model 14, six in. barrel, Monson produced, serial # 31XXXX which puts it at 1981. It has a cyl. drag mark and a small shiny spot on the yoke. Other than that, it looks great. I took apart the side plate and can find no wear on the parts. Trigger pull is 3.25 SA and heavy but smooth DA. Is the cyl. drag mark normal on a little used DW and have I figured the info right? Thanks for any info. I also would like to be able to download a manual. Thanks again.

dwf-welcome to the  dwf from Central Florida !

Correct, you have a model 14-2 with a Standard 6-inch barrel and very nice smooth zebra target grips.

Cylinder drag line is perfectly normal and not necessarily an indication of heavy use. In fact ,it may mean the bolt that engages the cylinder is not worn. A Colt Python , on the other hand, is out of time if it shows a drag line.

Thanks for the info Stinger. I wasn't sure about the 14-2. Now I know.

Also thanks to Ole Dog for the info on the cyl. drag line.

How do you two like our Summer weather in Feb. here in Florida. Pollen and weeds everywhere.

We love it .. in fact, Ole Dog and I are catching up today to enjoy the sunny 71* weather. I was stationed at NAS JAX during my Navy days.

Nice DW, and, very nice zebra stocks which are worth a pretty penny by themselves.

Safe shooting

If you're going to drink, don't drive. Don't even putt.
