New to the forum and looking forward to learning more about them.
My first is a model 44(I think). Got it today and took it to the indoor range(no mag rounds) so I shot 44 specials.
Really good shooter. Trigger is buttery smooth. I look forward to shooting the "Big Boy" rounds.
The blueing is a little faded near the grips. But the function is terrific. Did not know it was ported until I got it and saw the ports on the shroud. Wow. Really nice gun.
Will be looking to add 2" and 4" barrels.

Nice looking Model 44.
The shroud does have the ports, be aware that the barrel may or may not have the corresponding "Power Control" holes. It's important for you to know that with a Power Control barrel installed, you will get a lot of buildup of lead, unburned powder, carbon, and other junk inside your shroud like this
You want to be careful to remove the shroud and clean thoroughly very regularly.
Here's how my Power Control barrel looked once I finally got everything apart for cleaning:
I'm actually pretty underwhelmed by this "ported barrel" method. It took me several hours of effort to get the shroud removed and everything cleaned up.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
