I want to buy a new set of grips for my 8" Dan Wesson 15-2. I am picking the gun up tomorrow. I would like a set of Hogue wood grips but they say small frame .357 square tang or they say Large frame .44, .357. I do not know what a 15-2 is. I am guessing the small frame but maybe wrong.
What exactly is a 15-2 frame size and tang?
Thanks in advance

If your pistol is a 15-2 .357 magnum, it is a small frame with the square tang. The large frame pistols, such as .41 or .44 magnum, or .357 Supermag, have a round mounting hole.
I have 1 Hogue wood grip, it is very nice and I like it a lot.

Lonwolf told you correct for OEM grips. I might mention that "I believe" all Hogue grips have square holes. So be sure it says small frame and not just look at the hole. Hogue makes nice grips by the way. Good luck on your aqusition and don't be stingy with the pictures.

Jeff, there is another guy, LB Custom grips, you may want to check him out too, he makes awesome grips himself! I believe he is a rather modest guy too.

After taking the gun to the range today (Cleaned it first) I could fire 6 rounds of Remington semi jacketed 357 rounds into a fist size group at 25 yards. Took just a few rounds to get the sights set, but they are right on now. After the range session I ordered the Hogue rubber grips for it. My hands kept slipping in the heat and the felt recoil will be much better with the rubber grips. I also noticed that before I shot it today the case ejector rod was bent slightly. I straightened it, and then figured out why it was bent. It keeps loosening up while you shoot. So when you close the cylinder it hit the end of it's channel if you don't tighten it back up after a couple of rounds. I will probably use just a dab of locktight on the threads, the blue stuff so I can get them off if needed. Anyone else have this trouble? Man the trigger is super on these revolvers, it was great to shoot it, no not great it was very satisfying and a joy. One more thing that I noticed is that the rear site blade is really loose, it's not going any where but the blade it's self just seems loose.
Thanks for all replies.
PS I did order the barrel wrench from EWK and after I get the grips pictures will come.

Ejector rod loosening is fairly common and calls for a LockTite solution. Actually, I've found that tightening it down very firmly normally works well, LockTite won't hurt.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Just an up date, I really appreciate this site. I received my Hogue rubber grips, the screw was way to long for the grips. I had to make an insert for the allen screw almost 3/4 of an inch long. I made it out of 1/4" copper tubbing. If I did not make the insert the hammer would not go back. I new to do this thanks to all the people on this sites discussions. I also got my barrel wrench today, made quick work out of adjusting the barrel from a loose .006 to a medium .004. Again thanks to this site.
All the info was much appreciated.
I will get pictures this weekend, working 5 11 hour days this week no time for pictures
