Hello all,
I have a pretty run of the mill 15-2, but I am slowly building a collection of barrels for it. Anyway, I had a question about the front sight heights for the barrel shrouds that allow for replacement front sights. Is there any difference in height of the mounting points for front-sights between the vent rib and non-vent rub barrels? I bought a barrel with a fixed front sight and it is way lower than my other vent rib barrels and I really don't want to make another bad purchase.

What you bought was probably a BBL from a 14-2 all you need is a front right for a 15-2 you can find them on eBay or someone on here might sell you an extra they have

Actually, the front sight of a 14-2 is pinned and not interchangable easily. If you did try to use a 15-2 front sight it would have to have a hole drilled through it to accommodate the role pin. It still may not be the right height EWK may make a replacement. I know they make a replacement for using a 15-2 shroud on a 14-2. But they have the interchangable front sight.
Easier to buy a 14-2 and have an extra BA or sell the 14-2 BA. JMHO.
