I have a "First Issue" Norwich model 15, 2.5" revolver. The front sight insert is broken and though it "works", I'd like to replace it, preferably with the same thing it has now. That would be a yellow insert ramped sight. Here is a picture of the gun.
I bought a red insert sight but it is larger than the one on the gun. I realized there were different heights but it's not easy for me to judge from picture. So, are the sights marked in any way? I can't see any markings. Where do you measure the height? Is there a standard height? Can anyone tell me what height this sight is from just looking at it?
Thanks

Hello Sigwolf,
I'm not an expert but I think the colorwd insert ramp sights arw all the same height. You adjust the elevation on the rear sight for different lenght barrels. Different height Patridge style sights are available from EWK but they have no colored inserts. They are mainly for the longer barrels(10",12",+15"). I may be wrong in which case I would have to start acquiring lots of sights OD

Actually, there are different height colored insert front sights, I have some of each. I think this might come from the same front sight height not working well for .22 lr, .357 Mag, .44 Mag, etc.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

My bad! Guess that explains why I can't hit sh-- . Guess I gotta buy a lot of front sights till I get what I need . ebay prices are going to soar unless someone explains it to me. Just kidding. I'll figure it out and put nail polish on the ramp. Forgive me , it's Saturday night. O D

Steve - can you post up a few pics of the sights with the different heights? I don't think I've ever seen different height sights with colored inserts come through. Thx.
