Was at club sighting in my late dad's old '54/'55 Savage 340D in 222 Rem caliber and with the old '50's Weaver K6 with AO was able to get it to sub 1" group. Not too shabby after almost 60 years.
Anyway after that was done, then I threw out some golf balls about 25 yards and grabbed up my 722 VH8 with Magnum cylinder and loaded up. The farther out they got the easier they were to hit, the 3-9x42 scope was set at 3x and by time they went past 50 yards I was hitting them every other shot out to hundred yard berm. Damn gun was sighted in at 50 yards with the 8" 22LR barrel installed, and the WMR at 100 yards seems to be dead on.

You have to use the 100 yard range at least, otherwise you are up and over the berm in one or two hits maybe three if lucky.
I have to get a few things tomorrow morning at Wal-Mart and will get some small ballons to pop when I go shooting next week.
What's funny is I like shooting the 100 yard range more then the 25 or 50 yard sections, for some reason I can shoot better groups at 100 yards then 25 believe it or not. With my old 22 rifles (2 Mossbergs 55 & 60 years old), my CZ 453 American will do sub 3/4" but it has 3/4 pound trigger and will only do it with Eley Target Match ammo and the 722 is best with Federal Auto Pistol Targert ammo. The Mossbergs will do 1/2" to 3/4" groups with Wal-Mart Federal bulk, but they average 2 or 3 fliers out of the 7 round magazine.
Sometime in the next week or two some of us old farts are going to have a 300 yard shoot out with our rimfires, I will probably take my Marlin 981T with the Barska 4-16x44 AO scope. However I am getting a varmint scope for the CZ tomorrow and if I can get it sighted in before the shootout, I'll take it also.
