I have not been a big revolver guy, I've liked them just never owned any. I got into Dan Wesson via the 1911 route with a Valor.

A couple years ago I did get a Dan Wesson revolver and it's was on the beat up end and needed TLC, but I couldn't go wrong with the price.

I have been on the hunt for another Dan and today was that day. Not really sure what I got, but it's pretty and in a lot better shape than my other one.

Well I thought I was done and then the guy said "I think I have something else you might be interested in..."

S&W 686 no dash and hasn't had the recall done frim

what I gather, but again not my area of expertise. If anyone can share some info on these two fine pieces I'd appreciate it.

They sure look good together!

The Dan is a Model 14-2 (fixed rear sight) with a 6-inch Standard shroud. The 686 is pretty, I've got a 686-3 four inch and it's sweet.

Nice score on the mod. 14.  +1 on the 686.  Those SS pre-lock K/L frames were (and still are) about as good as they get.  I'm particularly fond of the 617 (.22lr) and 648(.22WMR) and the stock combat grips of the era are one of the best grips ever produced.  I came into this beauty, a pre-lock 617 (no dash) 4" brl. several years back.  IMHO it's one of the best .22lr revolvers ever produced.

Starting taking down the Smith to clean it and found Dec 16 1983 stamped on the grips.
