Good morning Forum.
Has anyone bought a DW revolver off of the Gunbroker site recently? I have purchased pne or two some time back, but the prices I am seeing on there now are off the scale. I really feel someone is either dreaming or has taken a trip into the future.
I will say that I have picked up a couple of nice ones off a site called Proxibid. (I may be cutting my own throat here). The generally have a decent selection of revolvers, pistols and occasionally BAs.
Thanks.

Proxibid has internet premiums of at least 15%+ and never give you any idea of what shipping costs could be. I watch there too and unless you are buying in person at that particular auction I can't see any bargains from them with that premium. You may have been getting lucky finding ones flying under the radar at Proxibid.

I find the best "deals" for buyers is to look to the gun stores that have a website and sell used guns. You can often call the store and have someone take pics to text to you and based on pics, may even be able to negotiate about 10%. I just picked up a DW Pointman 38 for 1200 (shipped) with three extra mags and a set of G10 grips.
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....
Lately there have been between 35 and 45 Dans for sale on Gunbroker. On any day there are only 3 or 4 with bids. The rest are priced too high. However, it is a fact that the prices of completed sales have taken a very large jump. It may be Covid, BLM, Biden's Victory and his promise to abridge gun rights, Biden created inflation, The sale of Colt to CZ and the discontinued production of Dan Wessons, everyone spending their extra shutdown money from the government, and the continued popularity of a classic, well made revolver. Many other firearms are also appreciating big time. Dans have probably gone up 20% or more in the last year. What was 500 is now 600. Some models have gone up double that.
I recently purchased a 15-2 cut for moon clips and chambering 9mm, 9x21, 9x23, 38 Super, 38 Special and 357. No one bid for several cycles. It was 950$. It looks as new but I am sure it was reblued. No tool or box but not a mark on gun or grip. I am sure there was $500 of Gunsmithing work on it. It will be my shooter. I love moon clips because I am clumsy and untrained on speed loaders. I also collect 9 mm Revolvers. The point I am making is that sellers put high prices on guns because sometimes they sell high. Or buyers make offers. Personally, I like auctions that start at a penny.
One way to acquire packs is to look for guns with 3 or more barrel assemblies but not a pack. The more extras the better. Then put them together in a pack. That is not as easy as it used to be. Folks want a fortune for accessories. I miss Toltec and his pack breaking. He kept the prices down by keeping the supply high. Biden should learn that but he is beyond learning. He doesn't even know where he is most of the time. I haven't been political on the forum for a long time but the 2cd Ammendment is under assault and to say nothing is giving up constitutional rights. Enough, with one last comment. The 2cd Ammendment is not about hunting.

So your the guy.... Haha. Just stumbled on the forum and having a look around.
I have been looking for a DW .445 for quite a few years. I have noticed on Gunbroker the DW .445 have gone through the roof. I missed one at a good price around the beginning of the year. Now they seem to be 2-3K (or more).
I finally picked up a S&W 500. Happy with that, but still looking for a .445 at a fair price.

Probably a dumb question, but can this DW 445 Super Mag fire .44mag and .44special caliber rounds? I hope so!

I better buy it immediately!!! 😂 JUST KIDDING. Seriously, a lot of conversation about auction items and intentions is probably not a good thing. The whole idea is to not bring attention to an item you desire. When I am bidding or going to bid on a gun I zip my lips. But sometimes I check with a couple of buds to see if I am stepping on their toes. And they Check with me. Often I will bid early to let folks know I am interested. If I REALLY WANT IT I bid so high only someone as obsessed as me would bid more. I do try to avoid bidding wars though. 🙄. Too easy to fall prey to a shill bidder. And there are plenty of them on Gunbroker.
