Once there is a bid the seller is not permitted to cancel the sale. That is why some folks immediately bid a dollar or the opening price if they are interested.
I thought it was the proxy bid style. If the item starts at $1.... and you bid $20. Your bid is $1 until the next guy bids $10. Then your bid goes to $11. And so on.
Bidding is a minimum 5 dollar increments until 1000. Then it is $25 dollar increments. If the bidding is up to 10 and you bid 100 the price is 15 with you leading. If someone else bids 20 then the price is 25 with you leading. You stay in the lead until someone bids more than 100..

I am used to other auctions that have different increments. Some start at $1, then to $5, then 10 etc. Smaller increments for lower dollar items.
