I was cruising the internet looking for a High Standard Sentinel Mk II. I came across DallasGuns.Com. GP Firearms had a very nice H.S. Sentinel Mk III for $635 but I was looking for a Mk II. Sent the seller an email asking if he had a Mk II. The seller sent me a picture of a Sentinel R-108. That's not even close to a Mk II. I'll bet the guy who responded didn't even know what a Mk II even looks like. I'm thinking that the DW community is a very select group of gun nuts. Most of the people I'm associated with have no idea what a Dan Wesson is. I love DW's. Have bought 6 since the first of the year. I need professional help fast.

Know what you mean here. Until I found DWF, it was rare to find anyone who would give DW's a second look. Most people out there only claim to know about guns that are common and popular. I have the same problem with my JC Higgens guns, I talk about their accuracy and reliability, yet they get scoffed at and even called crap simply because they are unknown.
The first step is admitting you have a problem lol. Second step is to get rid of the source by sending me all your guns.
Do something every day to improve your position.

Hoss, that price on the MK111 is way steep! It would have to be with original box and everything plus first owners check book. I have a few of both and like the way they handle.
Pick this one up and see that guy wnats to buy another for the same price or 50 less than he has on it. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=217420430
I think has struck and know that a cure has not been found!

I think a lot of gun store employees assume that a Mk II is not much different than the rest of the .22 caliber Sentinel MK lineup. I sometimes think it's odd that they had .22 caliber MK's on either side of the .357 caliber models. Oh well, I guess it helps add to the mystery.
I agree that $635 is very steep...unless it's s/n #1 or something similar.

I'm not interested in a Mk III but was looking for a Mk II to see what they went for. So far all my Dan's are 14-2.
I bought a S&W mod. 36 today from an individual under market value. On the way home I stopped by my gun store where I chat and get a "gun fix" for the day. Some of you may remember I said a few days ago that I had never seen a DW in Alabama for sale. I casually asked the owner what he would charge to clean one of my DWs. Then he winked at me and said how would you like to buy a pistol pac? I said, you got one? Yep, he said. I told him that I had just bought a gun but would really like to look at it. He said it was in the safe. He got it out. It's a 15-2 V, 4 barrels, 3 grips, wrench, patch, original case, yellow inside, looks like brand new, not a scratch or blemish. The only barrel that has been shot is the 6" It belongs to his brother and his brother bought it new back in the 70s.
I told him I had a serious cash flow problem at the moment. He said if I wanted it that he would put my name on it and I could come get it any time. There would be no paperwork or tax. Transaction would not go thru his store. I shook his hand, said deal, and left. It's driving me crazy. I want to go back and take it home. I have no doubt it will be there when I round up the money. So here I sit, thinking.

Dude, if somebody locally offered a pistol pac like that to me, it would eat me alive 'til I got it home! If I didn't have the money, I'd sell something, the lawnmower, the tv, the dog, the kids, whatever! I wouldn't be able to sleep 'til I took it home.
Yea I got it bad

Well, I would have substituted wife for dog, but in my experience wives are very expensive to replace! And really I have too much invested in the kids to get rid of 'em now lol.
