I stated my gun was VH8 when in fact it is properly reffered to as HV8. Sorry! But it does have a heavy "underlug" (didn't know that was the proper nomenclature until you reffered to it as such) and the top is vented with no slots on the side. So am I correct in being able to interchange any of the barrels with my gun? (So long as they are .357 small frame, I'm sure)
Thanks Harly, you have been very informative.

Jim -
You're correct. Here's the nomenclature on the barrel shrouds (x= the length):
VHXS - Vent Rib, Heavy Underlug, Slotted
VHX- Vent Rib, Heavy Underlug
VX - Vent Rib (short or light underlug)
H - Heavy Underlug (no vent rib)
no designation - No vent, short or light underlug
Any of these configurations of mod. 15 barrels shrouds will fit.
