Just thought I would share this little bit of Dan Wesson History with the DW Forum, those members who may be interested in the legacy and history of the NYPD DW Model 11. I made contact at the S&W Forum with a very nice retired NYPD Officer who had a brother officer (friend) who packed the Model 11 as his "duty" weapon. It wasn't a lot of info, but it was more than I've had! You may really enjoy the reason "why" he had a Model 11 as his duty piece. He had trouble with the S&W Model 10 he initially purchased on "gun day" at the NYPD Police Academy. He also preferred the "feel" of the Model 11 over the S&W Model 10. I appreciated my brothers candor very much and I will post more info of the NYPD Model 11 as I go. A lot of these "fine" men are at the S&W Forum and have been forth-coming in sharing with me their individual history at the NYPD, especially their sixguns history.
