My daughter and I were out shooting my Norwich 744vh8 yesterday. After quite a few rounds the cylinder would not close. I found powder fouling under the extractor star. During cleaning, I found the star can be rotated on it's shaft. It can move a little bit on it's own causing it to misalign with the cylinder. The ejector rod was tight. It's not bent. Questions. What is supposed to hold the star from being able to move on the shaft. Is it staked? Do I need to replace the extractor? Advice would be appreciated. Thanks! John

I've never had one so worn that it could rotate and misalign but I suppose it could happen. The ejector rod is slotted and the guide is a pressed in part of the cylinder. To disassemble for cleaning, use padded grips and turn ccw. Two empty cases may help with removal:
Both parts should be available from DW in Norwich (not CZ).
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

soo? what you have done? 2 weeks have passed and no update. the reason I have this question is that I also have 744 and although I don't have any problems with it (tho i have some health problems but that's another problem), so far, I am really intrigued in finding out an answer

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
