Hi Guys, I'm happy to have just joined the forum as I purchased my first Dan Wesson revolver this weekend, chambered in .357 Mag. I love the way that it looks and feels with the big target grips on it, however I don't know much about the revolver and am eager to learn!
The wood target grips appear original as they have the DW Mendelian in them. The bluing is in great shape and very glossy. The revolver seems to function as it should and seems to be a very well put together, quality revolver with great fit and finish....I hope that it shoots as good as it looks and feels to me!
Below are pictures....How can I tell what model it is? (I was told that it was a model 15, however I can't find any markings on the gun to confirm that.) Is there an easy way to tell how old it is/when it was manufactured? The serial number on the right side of the frame is: 131364. How common is this revolver?
Thanks in advance for any education, input and Dan Wesson revolver history!

Congrats. on your new acquisition. You have a model 15-2 and the configuration you have it in now is VH4 (Vent, Heavy Underlug, 4 in. barrel). There are no model markings on the gun. Over on the right side bar here >>, just above the instant message block, you'll see a link to the serial # list. You can get a pretty good approximation of when the gun was manufactured from the list.
Looks like a nice one. Pick up a few more barrels and some extra grips and you'll have a nice setup!
