Hey guys im having serious issues with missfires. i have a palmer 715 fb. i have tryed magtech ammo, blazer , sellor and bennot and consistently have about half of my ammo missfire, i have attempted several things to attempt to remedy my issue.
i have replaced the cylinder hand had it fitted to fix timing issues, replaced firing pin, i am using the stock mainspring(i think), also tryed an 8 pound wolf mainspring, kept the grip screw loose, shimmed cylinder to remedy endshake, added reduced power triger return spring from wolf, checked cylinder ball retention screw to make sure it is flush to frame, replaced ejector rod, (last one was slightly bent), and thorough cleaning. Still about a 50% of my rounds misfiring. Im running out of ideas . Mabey a new factory mainspring?. Thoughts from the dan wesson brotherhood would be apresiated .

Get a factory mainspring, measure the firing pin protrusion in the fired position to be sure it is long enough. Has the grip screw seat moved, this part effects the mainspring? Just a few random thoughts. Good luck.

Wisdom is merely the realization of how little one knows, therefore I am wise.
Tony, I think it might be connected to your other problem of the hammer rubbing the frame. It would not take much rubbing to reduce the kinetic force of the hammer. Reseating or replacing the post could solve the problem. Does the hammer lay flat when out of the gun? Hard to see how that would bend though.
