There are some original wood grips that make me think of the Bisley grip found on some SA Colt's and Ruge'rs.  Not exactly the same but similar enough to get my attention as the Bisley feels like it was made for my hand.

So if I should place a want to buy post I am wondering just what to ask for.

Can anyone identify and put a name to these grips.  They seem slimmer and more curved than the larger target grips but not as small as what would be a concealed carry type of grip.

Thank,  DDDW-Grip2.jpgImage Enlarger

They are Powerwood grips. They are actually made of plastic but look very realistically like wood. They were used only a couple years during the early mid 70's.

Yep- ask for Powerwood Target Grips and folks should know what you're asking for.

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Thank you very much.  Any reason to stay away from them in regards to durability

Are they something that are special and demands a premium compared to DW wood grips?

DD, I only have one pair of them, but to me they would appear that they would hold up to use. The big downside is that as the finish wears off I do not know how you would refinish them. When they are in excellent condition they look remarkably like wood.

I have seen them show up occasionally on Ebay and I do not think they go particularly high, most folks want nice walnut or the zebra striped wood styles.

Thanks,

 Been watching e-bay quite closely.

I have these but think something slightly slimmer would suit me.HS.jpgImage Enlarger

Here is a pair on Ebay, if you look at the 2nd pic you can see a telltale horizontal line from being molded.

Thank you,

I check e-bay and Gunbroker daily. I am new to this and somehow miss posted items.

Have to work on my search techniques I guess.
