I have recently purchased 2 Dan Wesson .357 Revolvers. Neither pistol came with any type of documentation. Both have a blue finish, adjustable rear sight and marked Dan Wesson Arms, Monson, Mass USA. on the frame. One has Serial # 252446 on the frame and came with 2 1/2", 4", 6" and 8" VH barrels. The barrel shrouds are all marked Dan Wesson Arms .357 CTG. It has a checkered walnut target grip with the logo. The other one has a serial # of 332210. It came with 6" and 8" non vented and non lugged barrels. It has a smooth walnut combat grip with no logo. I believe they are both model 15-2 and think that serial # 252446 was mfg in 1979 or 1980 and that serial # 332210 was mfg in 1982. I would appreciate any information in identifying and verifying the manufacturing dates of these pistols. I realize that the changes in the company's ownership, lack of detailed factory records and the interchangeability of parts make accurate identification extremely difficult without original documentation. but I would be grateful for any additional information on these pistols.
