As some of you know this has been a long week for my family with the lost of my father-in-law last Sunday. So yesterday what better way to relieve stress than to spend some time at a gun show.
Normally I'm there when the doors open but stayed at home with my wife until she got ready to go out with a friend so I didn't get there until 10:30. So on the way to the show I swung by the ATM and pulled out $400 cash just in case. Well I get to the show and there is no line which is unusual these days. So I proceed to cruise up and down the isles until I stumbled upon the case above.
There was a guy in front of me negotiating with the dealer. The price on the tag was $550 and the dealer had come down to $500 and they guy was trying to get him to $450. At this point my heart was racing! Finally the guy told the dealer that he would think about it and started the walk away when I said I would take it for the $500.
Well then I had to go back to the bank because apparently I only have a daily withdrawal limit of $500 on my ATM card which I have increased for case like this now. When I get back to the show they guy has a model 744 laying on top of the pac case that had already been sold for the bargain price of $375! So needless to say it pays to get there early.
I think for $500 + $25 Tax for a complete pack is a deal… I will provide more pictures tomorrow…
Anyone near Chantilly, VA I'll be at the Nation's Gun Show next Friday!

When I bought it the guy said there was some of original paperwork under the padding. So included was the instruction booklet, warranty card, 22 Ad, Sales Brochure, Price List from 1979, extra sights, case key and an old business card. Sorry for the picture quality it was taken with my mobile phone.
I think it was a pretty good deal.

I don't know how ya'll do it. I can't even find a decent used DW around these parts, much less a pack, and they want a mint for it if you can find one. I would have hurt myself reaching for the wallet on that one.

For those of you who don't have the "DW EYE" yet... I believe by the wrench that is a 22 Pac.

To say nothing of the sign in the middle of the pack that says 22.-Mike
My Pacs all came with three brochures--one for 22, 357, and 44,,, free advertising for DW at the time.
