Is it possible to still source the 10in barrels anywhere? I want a 10in 44 gun but I cannot find one anywhere. Am I better off getting like a gun and trying to source the barrel separate?

If you want a role mark to match the receiver you will need to haunt eBay or GunBroker.com and be patient. Or buy a gun with the 10" BA. My favorite is, the 10V. The 10 VH is quite muzzle heavy. 10" (91/2") are the second least common length after the 4". (not considering the extremely rare 21/2")
You could check with the DW factory( not CZ) but they would have a laser engraved mark and may only be available in stainless.
So, to answer your second question, your best bet is to buy a gun WITH the 10" Barrel. IMHO.

Per Genny @ DW-CZ on 08/12/2022, you should still be able to order a VH10 for your 44/744.
