I'm fairly new around here. I picked up a 15-2 locally for a fairly good price. It was clean when I bought it, but after shooting it there's this build up on the cylinder flutes I can't seem to get off. It looks like powder residue, but I think it might be lead. The problem is, I haven't shot any straight lead through it. Maybe 150-200 rounds of Xtreme double plated and several hundred Swamp Popper polymer coated. All were 158gr SWC projectiles. The plated were sized to .357 and this thing did not like them at all like my old Ruger did. The coated ones were sized to .358 and they shoot like a dream. I've tried No. 9, CLP, Shooter's Choice lead remover, and elbow grease. Not much luck with any of them.

I got the same thing from shooting lead. I just cleaned normally & wiped the areas with a patch & Hoppes till it eventually went away.
It was really stubborn on the front edges of the cylinder over the chamber, but it did eventually go.

I didn't know how to use it.”
