It is a 715 357 Wesson Arms Palmer Ma. Ser. 357S00244x with a 4 in Bbl. Any help dating it would be appreciated.

Congrats on your new Dan Wesson. I'd be curious about the serial number too. I've been eyeing one at a local shop that has a very similar set of numbers but it is a Monson, Mass. gun. All stainless 715. The serial number on that gun is 357S0050##. So if the factory did issue them consecutively my guess is that yours would be a 1991-92, and the one I am thinking about purchasing is probably a 1990-91. My guess is somewhere around the time they moved from Monson to Palmer. You can also view the serial number registry on this forum to get a better idea of what year yours might fall in.

Hello: I've just purchased two more old Wessons. These were auctions on Gunbroker. One is a beautiful, unmarked and super clean 715 6"hv ($700,gun only). Serial SD0051xx. Opened it up and it's pristine! Totally thrilled with it! The other one is a 15-2 five-digit serial places it around the late seventies ($350 frame only). Action is clean, lockup tighter than a gnats rear end. I'll dress it up with a 4"hv barrel assembly and a set of Grippers l just got from Ebay at a whopping $65!!, but what the heck, gotta have 'em.
