Well, I have noticed that my beloved "original purchase" 15-2 is getting a very solid case of Barney. I just spent the hour looking on here about what it is and what can or can't be done.
I think for my gun, I will just learn to love it. However, do wonder.. permanent fix =
wait for it....
plating!

EWK_Stuff also knows someone that can reblue it to where the Barney effect doesn't return. I know Steve had one of his plated with excellent results as well.

I did bright nickel on a 15-2 through my local gunsmith, cost mid $300, and my guy said he'd probably want more to do another. It was well worth it for me:
I elected to leave hammer and trigger blued as you can see
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I think that a certain degree of "Barney" is palletable in the eye of the beholder. I've got three that are mildly Barneyed, but I must admit...if any of them get anywhere near resembling pink, they're getting plated!
