I want to personalize my 44 mag a little bit.
I sent my receiver to CZ in hopes to have a non fluted cylinder installed but the estimate came back at about 100 more than I was quoted, and up to an 8 weeks turn around. I just couldn’t justify the wait, or the cost in having it done, so I had them return it to me.
But I still want to have some work done to make it more mine, so here are a couple ideas i have...
semi-bobbed hammer, trimmed underlug and slotted shroud.
also maybe some top strap and trigger stippling, grooving, checkering (whatever it is called). Lol
Anyone have pics of custom work you have had done to yours that you would share? I have looked through several pages in the pictures section, but nothing really just jumps out at me.
I also need to decide if I want to have this done to the 8" shroud that is pictured, or to my 6" shroud… the weight savings would be appreciated on the 8" more than the 6" but I wonder if I would like it better on the 6"… the finish is a little worse on the 8" shroud, so I am thinking that may be the way to go since it should be refinished anyway...
I guess I have time to decide.

Your gun, you gotta do what makes you happy. Once you take metal off, it can never be put back on, so please carefully consider that. In the future (maybe not so far off) you may be able to get a new shroud in exactly that configuration, and be able to keep the original as is. It's only original once, you can't go back (but this is from a guy that completely refinished a perfectly good 15-2, so what do I know?)
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I have to agree with SteveCT, DON'T alter your original shroud. Keep it original
if you can. There are plenty of used ones that come up for sale from time to time,
plus I keep reading about new shrouds becoming available soon from EWK.
Maybe he can custom make a shroud to your design. Otherwise, find a shroud on
one of the auction sites & keep the best one original & modify the other.
