Hi guys, First time writing here. I have a Stainless 8" Supermag with the skeletonized barrel shroud,(Shave weight off for competion). Its serial # is "IHMSA 04X". I contacted Dan Wesson about 13 years ago, and the rep said he'd give me 1,000 sight unseen. This gun is a Monson gun, and I'm looking for any info on it.

The IHMSA numbered guys were bought through IHMSA by members. I believe the price was a good discount over regular gun shop prices.
The 445 is a great gun.
Do you shoot silhouette?
I started last year and used a model 44 and a 740. Both Monson guns.

Exactly.
Plus, the "04x" would have been that IHMSA member's membership number. So you may be able to track down that person eventually & learn the gun's history from the start.

IHMSA Members were given the opportunity to buy DW's serial numbered to their IHMSA Member number, and at a discount.
DW actually did a bit of custom Serial Numbering
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
