Hello All, I'm new to the forum. I recently purchased a IHMSA 7445 Supermag off gunbroker. The pistol is obviously used but appears to be in very good condition. I've read several threads about these hand cannons. I understand DW allowed IHMSA members to purchase these weapons with the serial number being their membership number. Mine is #16. Just wondering if anybody knows how many of these were produced for IHMSA members, when they were manufactured, etc. Also, I've purchased .445 supermag ammo and will shoot this beast as soon as I get some time off. Any free advice appreciated beyond hang on tight! Many thanks.

Congratulations on obtaining the 445SM. Plan to buy more Ammo, you should really enjoy it. Focus and squeeze that trigger and check out the fireball towards evening hours, they can put on a flame show. Very accurate caliber. Good luck

Please visit New Members and tell us a bit about you what you are shooting.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Congrats on the purchase of a super mag. I am not going to say the recoil is not bad. That is for you to decide. Keep in mind there are many options for loads. The load is what determines the recoil. The heavier the bullet more recoil. I personally think the recoil is not as jumpy as a standard magnum. It is more of a push back not fly up. Throw a 44 mag in it and then a 445 and you will see what I mean. If the barrel is over 6" it will be fine.

Congrats. I have one just like. Can't remember the # and I'm too lazy to take it out of the safe and check! With the cost of .445, you're probably going to want to take up reloading.... Be sure and stop by New Members and introduce yourself.
