A week and a half ago I received my new (to me) 445S-VH8. I've wanted one since forever, like fairly soon after I bought my 715-VH6 and 744-VH6 new back in the Jurassic Age. This 445S was claimed to have fewer than 100 rounds put through it. That's believable when I look at the top strap and see no flame cutting.
I was a little anxious that it would turn out to be an arm-breaker. Finally last night I got a chance to go to the range and try it out. I'm in love again! The recoil doesn't seem to be any greater than my 744 with full magnum loads, although my wife fired one round and said "never again". Her favorite is the 744 with specials.
It now has 150 rounds through it and soon to get more!

Excellent Mike! I really love my 7445-V8S. I felt the same as you when I fired it the first time...was a little concerned it might be too much. As you found out, it really isn't any worse than my .44 Magnum. The 300 grain loads do get your attention.. I believe your wife's "never again" may have had more to do with the muzzle blast than the recoil. It is definitely LOUD!

Here ya go, guys.
The V8S appears to be a Norwich piece. The gun and the VH8 are both Monson. Now I gotta find a VH8S, a VH6S (or at least a VH6) and a VH4. I've got a case coming from Steve at rustyknives .com. Yeah, I admit it; I bought it. I have cases for my 715 and my 744 which I bought back in the early '80's with the guns. Lots of people are gonna sell them; we might as well buy them and build pacs which we can pass on to our kids.

If rustyknives had anything I needed, I'd buy it from him. We saked him to get on board, and he did. Actually, I'm thinking of PM'ing him to give me a heads up is he comes across one or two specific things I'm looking for.
Pretty quick on pictures once you got busted, and a great looking pistol

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Dusty:
I have to admit that DW bluing is usually the best I've seen, but that first scratch would bring me to tears. If I scratch my stainless guns, a rescue pad will fix it.
Now I'm gonna have to find another case; I've got a 357SM arriving today or tomorrow. I have been officially diagnosed with DWAS (Dan Wesson Acquisition Syndrome) and it's getting expensive.

My wife has suffered through NAS (Nikon) and is now suffering through this. Hopefully this will result in fewer acquisitions than the Nikon version. That one has reached 29, although to be fair, 4 of them are hers. Actually 1 of the DW's is hers too.
She has promised to stop buying clothes on her lunch hour every day if I slow down. We'll see how that works.
Dusty is right: money and time. Cubic money and time.

Withdrawals occurs when it takes too long to review your watch list on the gun auctions and you have to get to something else other than scrolling the watch list and you actually start to delete some of the items, only to replace them on your watch list later the same day, been there done that.
