Does anyone index their barrels & shrouds?
I ask because I have a 10" barrel w/ a scope for the 41 and am thinking about using it on a frame that normally carries a 6" set up. Switching back and forth is a concern because I believe the point of impact would change each time I switch out. I'm guessing that if I indexed the assemblies, the shift in POI would be reduced.
Thoughts?
Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Ron- For what it's worth, I have a scope mounted on an 8" shroud for my 715 that does not seem to show a lot of variance in POI when I uninstall/reinstall it. The scope is on a Burris mount, and leave it installed on the shroud. I am pretty careful to install the shroud and gap the barrel as consistently as possible, and I don't find it to be a problem.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
