Got my shipment. They're exactly as described, but I want to reiterate for anyone who missed it like I did, that the elevation screw included is an incompatible thread. Unfortunately, it's close enough that I managed to screw it in partway before realizing something was amiss, and will have to have the hole re-threaded.

Has anyone found a fiber optic rear sight for large frame Dans?
Use the Williams FireSight if your gun has the same elevation screw location as late model revolvers (same as Ruger configuration). #70958.

Thanks Harly, but that one fits the small frame, not the large.
Snake-eye - you can't draw that conclusion. It depends on which configuration your large frame was manufactured to. I spent a lot of time on this a few years back and it just came up here recently last week. The large frame and SuperMag frames were manufactured with the placement of the elevation screw in 2 locations. The photo below shows the differences - they are both Monson .44's The one on the left is a range of earlier Monson revolvers while the one on the right is later Monson and almost everything after (excluding a few Palmer guns with Insight Gun Works). The one on the right is what you will find on most later Monson, Palmer, and Norwich guns, both large and small frames. It is the same configuration as Ruger Redhawk and Blackhawk revolvers, Williams FireSight, and what is currently coming out of DW now. Look at your gun and determine which large frame yours resembles...if it's the one on the right the Firesight for Ruger Redhawk/Blackhawk will fit it.

Success. I installed a firesight in the rear sight of the 45. Note that I encountered a couple of anomalies:
First: I could not use the DW screw because it did not allow the sight to go quite far enough forward to line up with the hole for the retaining pin. Luckily I had a Ruger screw that worked fine.
Second: The elevation springs from the DW are too large a diameter for the firesight. I temporarily robbed some from a Millet rear sight and I'm checking to see if the stock Ruger springs will fit the firesight. Will advise when I find out.

Thanks Ole Dog. I'm waiting on a response from Brownell's tech support on diameter of the Ruger springs. That should answer the question. I suspect they will fit since I don't think the Firesights ship with springs. If they fit I will get some from Brownell's. Then I can put the Millet springs back in the box.

Hey Harly, or Snake-eye, will this Millett fit the Dan's as well? It says its for a colt 1911 but it looks like the same config. in you picture. I want one for my 445 SM. Thanks, Dave

The elevation screw looks like it is in the right spot, but cannot tell if the retaining pin is lined up. Note that you will have to have the later production frame that uses what I call the small frame sight style. If you have a small frame to compare then you can tell if your 445 large frame has the same sight style.
Let us know if you get the Millet and it works.

Thanks snake-eye, It looks like whats on my small frame, but it's had to tell by pictures and that's all I've got. Here is a pic from a different angle showing pin location.
Let me know if anything stand out as not working.
Otherwise, I think I will just order it and see if it works. I will post when I know the results.
