That is not a 1911 sight- looks like the Magnum Research BFR sight which fits the BFR, SBH and some DWs (depending on elevation screw location). Here is a 1911 rear sight:
Yeah, I found several different sights claiming to be 1911 rear sights, and they seem to come in many different configurations. I did notice that many fit into a recess notch like a Sig Sauer and like your pic shows.
The only thing I can figure is it is just the center piece. But maybe the Lister does not know.
I'm going to get out my dial caliper and take the measurements off a small frame and a large frame and see if the sizes match what Brownells specs sheet shows. Then the only question will be the elevation screw and pin location. Thanks

Ron,
That is a Millett Series 100 handgun sight. They made them to fit many handguns.

I suppose I'm old fashion but for iron sights a large plain black target style sights work best for my eyes. Don't care for rounded corners, white outlines, colors, dot, dayglow fibers etc.. I'm new to the forum, just picked up my second DW revolver, a 6 inch .357 that was a close enough match to my .22 HV 8 inch that I brought it home. I really like the .22 sight setup, very similar to my High Standard Military Trophy pistols. The .22 has a wide rear sight with Patridge style front blade which I like. The .357 rear sight is similar though isn't quite as wide and has a ramped front blade with red insert. Have ordered a Patridge blade for it. Which got me thinking on how much I dislike the sights on my Ruger Super Redhawk. Have not found sights that I like available for the Ruger outside of custom stuff and they really weren't to my liking or budget. Figured I try making my own Partridge by modifying the removable Ruger front sight, putting it in the mill and cutting a slight undercut just past the plastic insert. Touch up blued the bare metal and I'm happy enough with the results though in a pinch the pistol could substute for a gaff hook. Still want a rather large plain black rear sight with square corners. If anyone wants to get rid of their DW sight after installing one of these white outlined Millett sights I might just be interested in installing it on the Redhawk. Otherwise I might try one of the Milletts myself and just paint the thing black. Personally, I believe prefer the DW rear sight over the Ruger or the Millett.
thanks

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
