A friend from work has a suit case with a stainless 44 DW. Is this rig priced right at $600 ??

The 44mag blued sells for $500, stainless adds $50 ane each additional barrel adds $100, and the case alone with key adds $80, so yes it worth at least $770 retail, unless it has problems. Where it was made highly influences the price; the Monson, Mas. models fetch the highest prices, followed by the Palmer modes. If it locks up tight and dry fires ok, jump on it, DW's are going up in value and as a set it's collectable.
I would buy that gun for $600.00, worth the price with all the extras.
I do not know if Dan Wessons will ever be "collectable" but prices deffinately are on the rise, and revolvers are almost missing from auction sites, the Autos are taking over.
and Dont take me wrong about the collectable thing I want to collect them but the following has always been too small to help make them collectable.
