I have the opportunity to buy a Monson 10" barrel 744 in mint condition (It appears to have never been fired)  for $735.00  original box, feeler Ga., and wrench.  Is it a good price?

To me, the price is a little high. However, you the buyer, is the one who will ultimately determine it's value.wink

I have overpaid on some guns in the past, merely because it was exactly what I had been looking for & I wasn't going to let it get away. I feel fortunate to have landed the ones I did & would do it over again today if the scenario was the same.

I think that's in the upper deck of the ballpark on price, but if 10" SS .44 Mag is exactly right for you (no compromises, exactly right) do it, you won't regularly see this gun available.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

If you haven't "pulled the trigger" on this one yet, tell your friend I'll buy it.  That gun is going for that price or more on gunbroker.com for the past 2 months & Steve is right, you won't see many available.  I just bought a Monson 744V including an extra barrel for $950.  Yes that's probably too much but I've wanted this gun for 25 years.  If you love it, get it.  That's a great gun.

Let's see - appears to be never fired, 10" SS, box, wrench and gauge.  If I were in the market it would be a buy-nowfor me.  If you do decide to grab it and the 10" brl. doesn't work out for you, let me know and I'll work a trade with a 6".  Go get it!!

The bluing looks great.  Once in a while one comes along that just stands out with excellent finishing - this looks like a perfect example!

It's always nice to grab a good Dan.  You get a lot of looks at the range when you pull out your big ten inch.

Huh? What did I do? Oh, now I get it!

It's a Site Supporter Forum thing, not quite right for Open Forum. I will point out that Ron wanted to "grab" something, however surprised

if you find one...what's your plan?
