Is there any chance I could mis-seat my side plate?

After I took my gun apart (the AJT) It seemed the side plate didn't return to flush at the base of the hammer and the spot right under the cylinder.

Am I losing it and just making it up, or is it possible I have mis-seated the side plate. I tried many times to make it flush on all sides...

Or you gotta part thats not aligned or seated completely.  If all springs are in place be sure the hand stays down. Side plate has a little lip that tucks in first.

What hand are you referring to?

The cylinder hand. Will try to come off. Sometime because of hammer spring sometime because of interrupter/hand spring

The hand is the thin piece that goes in last and engages the rachet to turn the cylinder. The trigger return spring rests on a ledge and pushes on the trigger. If it is resting on the post that attaches the connector to the trigger the hand will not fit flush against the trigger, hence your sideplate problem. You have to hold your lip just right as you slide it on.

I have also found that the small retaining clip that holds the crane in place can move and interfere with the side plate going on properly.

It should fit well if everything is in place, as long as it is original to the piece!   Or maybe a bigger hammer needed!
