I have a chance to buy a 715 Dan Wesson with a 6" barrel.  $500 OTD  It was made in Palmer Mass.  Ser# S001781  This is at a pawn shop and they were asking $525.  They said the timing was off and they sent it in for repair.  New barrel and adjusted the timing.  It also has rubber grips.  No box or tools.

First I would ask to see the paperwork on the repair. If done by the factory, that's a plus and assuming the overall condition is excellent, then 500 is about the top of the market. If a barrel tool & gauge are included, that's a plus as are any original paperwork or box.

If they can't show proof of repair, then I'd say offer around 350. The market really fluctuates, so good luck. Let us know how it goes. There will be other opinions on this - all valid, of course - welcome to capitalism!  big-grin

Yep i agree with Snake eye. If it was sent to the Dan Wesson factory and they have a receipt i would go for it. As long as it also looks good to you.

As the guys said ask for proof of repair. Also considering the serial number this may be a fixed barrel model. Just in case you did not know there was such an animal.
