Hello to all. I'm so glad I found this forum!.... 2nd post and already I need your expertise!
Question is:
DW Mod 15-2V (Monson) is for sale... This gun is pristine, has a 6" barrel, comes with "the tool", some orig paperwork (circa 1979) and a Dan Wesson Leather carry. I'd love to grab it. Other forums I visit say "don't hestiate or look back"
It's marked "never fired", there is NO recoil mark on the rear of the frame and it is truly LIKE NEW looking and feeling. The price the gunshop is asking is $425. Please let me know your thoughts about that price and any suggestions/comments you might have.
Thanks

Sounds to me like you've already wasted valuable time posting about it (LOL!), go get it! If it's unfired & the finish is in good shape (not a lot of safe-shuffle wear), it's worth that price by itself, IMO. If the holster is a DW holster & is in great shape too, that's probably worth $100 or more by itself, on an auction site.
I'd go buy it & use one of our member's famous lines on the wife, if need be..."what new gun, honey, this old thing?" LOL!
Go snag it & show the rest of us DW fans some pics of your cool find.

If it's truely pristine and the soft case is DW then it's definitely worth tie price. Blued model 15's sell for from $280 and up for fair to good condition without any tool or paperwork. The DW soft case goes at auction for $50+ in fair to poor condition. The tool alone goes for $35 to $80 at auction. A new door knob style tool and gap gauge/allen set is still available from DW/CZ for around $50. The older T type tools had all the allen wrenches built in.

You already have your answer, but I'l throw my opinion in with the other guys. It's a deal!
IMHO '79/'80 were great years for the 15-2. It's new condition - sweet! Worth $350-$400 and a special chestnut for your collection.
Leather carry - worth a miniumum of $50, max $100 on auction and just plain nice to have.
We'll be looking for pictures.
Well HELL FIRE!...... I got it Thanks again guys for your advice and suggestions!
I'll post pics soon. Model 15-2V Serial # 2623XX Target Grips(with "DW" only on em) 6" BEAUTIFUL blue. It even came w/ the absorbing paper dated April 1979. The tool, and a few advertisements, the instruction booklet and even the lil "cardboard barrel" thingy ("Reserved for your extra barrel assembly") in the "*leather" case where the exta barrel should (read WILL) go.
*what I orginally thought was a leather carry case turned out to be "pleather" but is marked w/ the Dan Wesson name and Logo.

Barrel wrapper dated April 1979 - WAHOO!!
So, we had a whole thread on this topic, I think it's under gun pics. Seth Wesson, jr. (Dan's grandson) told us they restocked those wrappers every 6 mos. so you know it's not older than April 1979, but it could be newer by 6 mos. give 'er take.
And that case with the cardboard still in it is a sweet thing to own. Yeah, they're all pleather, but still treasure...
It's like you walked into the gunshop in 1979 and just bought it - don't git no better!!
Congrats!!
