I have a model 15-2 pistol pac with the barrel lengths of 2 4 6 8 inch. The shrouds do not have full under lug or vented rails. I believe I have posted of it here prior. I bought it as a shooter and it appears to have been someones carry gun while in the 4 inch configuration. Well to make a long story longer, while shooting at the indoor range the other day the cylinder unlocked twice during the first(and only)cylinder full of Remington UMC 125gr JSP .357 magnum ammo. IIRC it was round number one and three. I of course stopped as soon as I realized that i had indeed closed it completely and correctly and the gun was unlocking. I was using the 6 inch barrel and it was tight and the gap correct. What should I look at first, does the thumb latch spring need replacing often or ever or the ball detent that engages the cylinder face. A set of springs maybe??? FWIW it had 3-4 hundred rounds of 38spl in about five flavors including a box of +Ps fired through it. If I need to send it out is there somewhere to send it that specializes in old Dan Wesson revolver's Would it be the same place as the semi auto Dan Wesson's or to CZ-USA maybe? I am not expecting free warrenty work BTW
Thanks in advance for any and all advice or tips.

Had that happen with my Supermag when I first got it; chect the pocket the crane latch fits into, mine had a small burr that stopped it from entering enough to securely lock, about 5 min with a diamond burr on my Dremmel solved my problem. Good luck and keep us informed of your progress.

This, and the springs. Even a small amount of crud built up in the pocket that the latch goes into can cause this problem. Also inspect the tab on the latch that engages into the pocket. Spring replacement is always a good idea, and disassembling the latch and cleaning out the spring pocket may amaze you with the fuzzy, gooey crap that collects in there.
You've got a very good chance of fixing this yourself, otherwise try DW/CZ
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks to you both, not sure why but I was amazed at the amount of dirt carbon lead what not that has accumulated in the latch catch area. I haven't been able to fire it again since I cleaned it but I will be surprised if it still suffers from that issue. It even feels like a harder/longer movement on the release latch is needed to unlock it now. We'll see this weekend, hopefully that is it.
Thanks again,
Gary

Glad we got you on the right track. We're not perfect, but there are not many problems that will come up that hasn't happened to someone here already.
