You have a Model 715 fixed barrel 357. 7 denotes stainless. Unlike most Dan Wesson revolvers which have interchangable barrels, that one has a fixed barrel like most Revolvers. They were offered between 1991 and 1995. The solid barrel rib with a full lug and a slant on the muzzle are intrinsic to the fixed barrel guns.

Looks like a fixed-barrel .357 Dan Wesson - it's not worth anything and you can dump it here for less than you paid.
Naah.....just kidding. I'm not sure what model the fixed barrel revolvers are designated... maybe 715FB? Anyway, they have been out of production for a good 25 years now and some collect them in an effort to add every model to a collection. Someone will chime in on a value on it.
I'll add that it looks a little scratched up on the barrel shroud. You can spruce it up with some of the brown/gray Scotchbrite available at Lowe's, and if the scratches are deeper hit it first with some 220 or 350 wet/dry sandpaper, starting with the 350, then finish it off with the Scotchbrite. Most of those light scratches you can take out in a few minutes and it will look much better.

I like the fixed barrel models yours looks great! Yes most Dan Wesson guys do not like them but they are starting to become collectible due to nobody buying them. They were not popular and did not sell well since most Dan buyers wanted an interchangeable barrel that's what Dan Wesson was famous for. since they were only sold for a couple of years (93 thru 95 I think could be wrong on dates) and nobody bought them so nice ones are becoming collectible. Adding an original box and $600 to $800 is a good deal. I have two. One in beautiful Palmer blue (Palmer fixed the problem Monson had with frames turning purple or "Plum) so the blueing on Palmer guns is fantastic! My other is a bit more rare with a compensated barrel. Note the warning Dan wesson put in the manual not to try and take the barrel off! There is a place for a good condition fixed barrel Dan's i'm still looking for the very rare 44 magnum ones. I'm kicking myself for not buying the only one I have seen for sale on Gunbroker 2 months ago it sold for $950. Also all the fixed barrel guns came stock with the rubber Hogue grip unless you ordered it with a Dan wood grip!
Stan, the nice bluing on Palmer guns has to do with the polishing. All Dan Wessons, whether Monson, Palmer or Norwich have Barney to some extent. Even the best have a different tint when seen in sunlight. Some aver the investment cast molds donated some silicon to the surface of the steel when new. It really had nothing to do with the actual bluing procedure.
Pythons are an example of how polishing creates the beautiful bluing. The same procedure was used on other Colts but the Python polishing was renowned. Very labor intensive.

I will agree with you on they had better polishing but I have never seen a plum Palmer gun. I do know by asking Eric Wesson that they knew about the problems with the Monson guns and they did change the way they were done at Palmer. Here is my message from Eric Wesson about the plum or barney problems. You can click to make pics bigger or double click to open the pic and click again to really make it bigger. Also please be respectful of the email info.
