Picked up what appears to be a very nice 715VH on gunbroker.com today. It comes with a 6" VH barrel, tool, and gapper, in the original box. It is coming from a gun shop and the gent who runs the place spent 20 minutes on the phone with me one day going through the gun. I feel confident in the purchase but you never know for sure until you hold it in your hands.
This will be a nice compliment to my 744VH6 that I bought on gunbroker.com in July. I'll use the two revolvers as backup guns for hunting for me and my son.
Wish me luck with the condition of the "kid brother."

I was watching that gun as it looked very nice. I think you will be pleased with it. Give us a range report when you get it as well as some more . Congrats!

That is a real nice looking 715, good chance it has not been fired much. I don't see any dings, nicks, or cylinder turn ring.
Oh Stainless, I Love it So!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

As luck would have it just scored a Pachmayr Presentation grip for the 715. Now it will really look like it's big brother, my 944 with the same grip (only larger).

The 715 arrived. It appears to be in very good mechanical condition. There are a couple of cosmetic blemishes but since I bought it for field use no biggie.
I inspected the 744 next to the 715. Really interesting to heft both and feel the dramatic difference between the small and large frame.
I also noticed that the single action trigger pull is very different. After testing with my Lyman electronic trigger pull gauge I got the following results:
744 ave pull 6#3oz
715 ave pull 3#4oz
and just for reference, my S&W 29-3 is 4#6oz
Are either DW normal? My guess is that the 715 has a trigger job but I don't know DW revolvers so look to you gents for info.

"I'm torn between referring to them as (stainless) "Steely Dans" vs. "The Wesson Brothers from Monson"
I don't normally name my guns, but my 15-2 is Jake, and my 22 is Elwood ...
