My DW22 does not have this knurled barrel nut. Does this just unscrew like a normal barrel nut?
it seems very tight and I don’t want to damage it.
the sticker on the box just says 44VH. Is this the wrong shroud for the gun?
thanks for any help- Rick

DA...64 - Thank you for the help, I assumed it unscrewed but I didn't want to force it and mess something up. It seems to be tighter than just finger tight so I will try a small strap wrench on it to see if it wants to cooperate.
I love the look of this one and I am eager to put some rounds downrange.

Nice Score. That is a compensated barrel assembly. Technically a VH-C, But still likely original with the box. The outer knurled cap is what directs the gases up through the compensator to help reduce barrel flip. The actual barrel nut is inside the compensator cavity, as described by DA-64.

Snake Eyes - Thanks...I gave 950 for it. I thought that was a fair price for a good looking revolver. The box just says 44VH and the serial number - Still no luck loosening the knurled nut - no real reason that I want to take it off other than curiosity and cleaning.
I think I will leave well enough alone for today and mess with it another day.
