Hello everyone. A friend of mine who works part time for a gunsmith told me the gunsmith said Dan Wesson went to a sideplate system on their large frame revolvers after CZ bought them. I have a Norwich manufactured 744VH8 and it has the solid frame. Mine was made during the Serva years though. I've never heard this before and am inclined to believe it's BS. What say youDWF?

See.. I wanted to say as much... but didn't know for sure. The small frames have a plate, all the rest are one peice.
Now maybe he was reffering to the fact that CZ-DW last made the supermag frame guns BUT now plans on bringing out the small frame guns in 2011. Thus it could be said.. DW was making one peice frame guns and now will be making guns with plates. However, the supermags have always been built thier way and small frames have always been built thier way.
PS: All I have is small frames and I love them, just in case there was any thinking that it is somehow inferior or sub-standard. Small frames handle their .357 loads just fine. SOme day I will break down and grab a supermag... if Shoot doesnt own all of them by then.
Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box
in that order.
4 Monson Model 15's
1 Palmer FB 15
1 Rossi 357 Model 92 (lever)
1 CZ 75B
I love my small framed DW's but there is just something about holding a large frame or SuperMag. The 744 soaks up the recoil of the 44 mag and makes it a joy to shoot (although I don't get to do it as often as I would like).
If I'm not mistaken DW's was doing the one piece frame a few years before Ruger came out with the one piece frame design for the GP100 (wonder where they got the idea).

Greetings
If they do they are missing the boat. The Auction sites are filled with small frames for sale and far fewer Large frames... let alone some Super mags.
Me I would produce a run of 445 and 414 first. maybe some 375´s. Then punch out a bunch of 45 Colts and 41 mags . I sure would be buying.
