None that I've ever seen.  Have you seen an etched cylinder somewhere?  A pic would be neat, if so.

Ah- not laser etching but rather laser colored.  I thought you meant like engraving...

I've seen barrels done like that but not cylinders.  I think either Supermag Fan or Charger Fan has some SRS (IIRC; maybe SMs??) with barrels like that.

Ron,

So, I take it that no Dan Wesson's were made like this from the factory.

Not that I'm aware of.  I think that color treatment technology was developed around '08 or so.  One of the other guys probably knows more about it than I do.

Yes, there are some barrels (not shrouds) that have that same appearance. They look very sharp when that color shows through the shroud slots on a SuperMag. I would guess that yours has had some aftermarket treatment, but with DW's, you just never know for sure.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I saw a 460 Roland in a Hunter Pac last fall at a gunshow, it had the lasered cylinder and I believe trigger and hammer like the one in the pic you posted. Looked factory original to me.

I passed it up because I am Stupitmad

Perhaps it was the same gun you have the pic of.

Since the colored barrels have showed up from time to time and are factory original, I'd place my bet that the cylinder is also.

Yes, the laser treated cylinders and barrels were a factory option for a short time during the Bob Serva era.
