So, in perusing pictures and actions I've seen a number of different types of grips.
There are, of course, the "combat" grips, the smaller "carry grips" or "service grips" with the rounded butt. I've seen what look like "carry grips" but with a square butt and the larger "target grips" which are very common.
In addition there are different logos. There is the DWA, the DW and one the symbol on which I can't make out and I assume are after market but I don't know who made them. The logo is usually silver. In addition the DWA grips seem to have a different profile than some of the "nicer" DW grips. There is more of a curve and the curve is more slender.
So, does anyone have the skinner on the grips? When did the various ones come out, who made then and so on?

I think I read here that they were for the High Standard guns made by DW.
I maybe wrong on that.

Blacktop, you're right. That grip is for the High Standard Sentinel MK II & III…those two models were made by DW for HS for about 2½ years, from sometime in '73 to late '75. That ended when DW re-tooled to the 15-2 design in '76.
BTW, that is the more common plastic medallion, but they also made some in metal...aluminum, I think. I've got a pic of one somewhere.
SIG, there have been soo many DW grip styles through the years, that it's kinda hard to nail down a certain grip style with a certain medallion style.
For the first few years, the grips had no medallions & looked almost hand made. The first use (from what I've noticed) of a medallion, was a small sort of half size one like this from approximately 1975. These were used on this large grip & a small service grip. One of our members took a close-up pic of this style…and I saved it…but do you think I can find it now?? This has a big "W" on it.
During this time, they still made some grips minus medallions…Steve has one on his 15-2 that he purchased in 1978.
The "DWA" medallion came next, in approximately 1977 ~ ish.
The "DW" medallion came along last, in the mid ~ late 80's & continued to today.
Here's a thread showing a bunch of grip styles (and other neat DW stuff), but beware it is packed with pics & will take a long time to load, if you're confuzer is anywhere as old as mine…just click the link & walk away for 10 minutes while it loads.
