Jody:
For some reason, which I have been unable to pin down, my shroud fits so tightly that I have to rock it left to right for a long time in order to get enough space between it and the frame to put a cloth covered screwdriver in between to pry the shroud off. And that's the only way it will come off. There is no corrosion on either the barrel or the shroud and both have a light coat of oil.

You're right Jody, about the cost. There's one other negative to that: no roll-marking. I talked to Keith about roll-marked SuperMag shrouds. He said that they no longer have any roll-marking equipment. That's a real shame because I want VH6 and VH4 barrels for both of my SM's and I love the roll-marked "SuperMag" on the side of the shroud. I'm wondering if a good engraver could replicate it.
We could ask Keith about those barrels, just out of curiosity.
