went to look at a high standard today a local guy has for sale. i pulled the trigger, released the hammer slowly, and held the hammer down. the cylinder had a good bit of slack in it. like a good bit... id say close to 1/16" inch overall travel if that makes sense...

is that an expensive fix? the finish wasnt great, but man id like to have a high standard. i got the guy got down to $175 but couldnt get him any lower. just dont think i could part it out to make that much back if it turned out to be more to it. even if i got the lockup issue fixed, id still have a gun with a bad finish. i am thinking it may be best to pass. what thinks yall?

If you're interested in leaving it as a beater (bad finish) after fixing the slop in the cylinder, $175 may not be too bad. I'd not spend that much and plan on refinishing as well.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Me thinks not.  Another will come around, but by then you'll have spent funds elsewhere.  That's how it works around my house...

Technically, the glass is always full; half liquid, half air....

Which model of HS is it and what sort of bad finish does it have? If it's pitted & nasty, then it may only be worth $175, but if it's a MK II with a satin finish that's in decent shape, it may be pretty normal.Laugh Other than the cylinder playWink

These were only produced for about 3 years, and can be difficult to find for sale. The Sentinel MK II is a satin finish & the MK III is a hi-gloss finish.
