My first gun was a DW 15-2H6. About forty years ago (damn, I'm getting old) I lent my revolver to my older brother who graciously cleaned it before returning it to me.
The problem is that he went a little wild with the Locktite Blue.
Not only did he Locktite the barrel into the frame, he slathered Locktite on the shroud locating pin and on the barrel itself. I can't get the shroud off, I haven't been able to get it off for forty years so, obviously, this isn't a high priority issue.
I know that Locktite breaks down with heat but I don't want to blast the gun with a propane torch.
Any thoughts?

The school of thought I was always told was to pour more loctite on the affected threads, it'll break down the old loctite and you'll be able to loosen things up before the new loctite sets up, it just kind of acts like a penetrating oil for loctite only. I'd heat it with a heat gun, as previously mentioned, prior to pouring more loctite on it, to see if that works first, but sure wouldn't go crazy around any springs, and putting an entire firearm in the oven would probably not be an issue, if you disassembled the entire thing first, and removed all the springs. Take no chances.....
