I would love to see a 12" or 15" barrel for the .44 magnum.

I've actually dreamed about this.. talk about obsessed.. lol.

I wonder if someone could take 2 shrouds and make them into one.

I don't think a barrel would be a big deal for the right machinist to make.

I do think  it would be cool if CZ could , at some point , take custom barrel orders..

Perhaps we could put a bug in Genny's ear .

Yeah. that does look comical..

My 8" barrel is just dead nuts accurate.. that is why I think I want the 12" beast.. would be like carrying a  short carbine with a small handle..

I just want one... period !!!

I think I'll start off with the 10" that they make standard and see how that one rides first.

if you  get one before me.. email me.. I would love to talk about it.

I'm going to order the 8" barrel today.. compensated.., my current one is

uncompensated but the shroud is ported.. so I"ll see if it makes any difference in the"ride"..

lol

That sounds like a good start. I haven't shot a gun yet with a compensated barrel, but from what I've heard, they definitely have a noticeable difference.

Felt recoil is considerable less, and reacquiring the target is much faster with the newer compensated guns.  The older style with ports on either side of the front sight were less effective and a true pain to clean.  I've got the 10" barrel for my model 40 and take it to the range occasionally, if anyone is there, they will come over to see the cannon fire.  It's not comped but the wt of the long barrel keeps the muzzle fairly down.  It's dead on out to 100+yds and only a few inches drop at 200yds so I can ring the gong with iron sights consistantly.

SPOKE TO KEITH WITH CZ TODAY..HE SAID THEY DON'T MAKE THE OLD PORTED BARRELS ANY MORE.. SO UNLESS i ORDER THE NEW compensated barrels.. I'm SOL.. unless I can find a used 8″ ported barrel only… any one got one they want to sell ??

Anyway.. I felt so bad about wasting the phone call .. I went ahead and ordered the 4″ barrel for the .44 mag…  should be here in a few weeks… I'll let you guys know how it shoots.. I didn't get the compensated 4″  barrel yet because Keith said that the compensating is after the barrel ends and adds like an inch to the shroud length.. he referred me to the gun know as the Alaskan Guide Model.. I googled it.. looks wicked.. but I wanted something I could tuck in the seat pocket. so for this round length is everything. Next month I”l be looking at getting the 10″ barrel.. I would love to know if the compensating helps and is worth while getting or if it's a waste of $$$.. Keith says he doesn't recommend it.. but what does he know !!!   LOL.. sorry Keith just kidding buddy.. He's really a nice guy to talk to..

Anyway.. good night gents.. will keep you posted.. and if any of you know of an 8″ ported barrel for sale.. please let me know. \\

Thanks,

Wayne

BTW.. I have a 6" ported barrel .. it is definilty less recoil ... but you HAVE to clean it right away after shooting it.. otherwise... good luck.. the barrel gets all gunky on the inside of the shroud  side..
