An almost new, in the box, Model 15-2V with 6" barrel, tools, & all paperwork. The letter is dated October 1, 1979, so another for the S/N registry. It has a total of 38, .38 Special rounds through it & 10, .357 rounds through it. Bought from the original owner's grandson and he was the first to fire it and he gave me the partial boxes of ammunition with it.

You've sure got a knack for finding some fine DWs. Great find, again!
http://www.texasguntrader.com is where I've been able to find them. There are two more listed right now, including a very nice looking 15-2 and a limited edition dove grey .44 magnum. I've thought seriously about that .44 magnum, which is just 20 minutes away, but it seems overpriced to me and looks like it might have some condition issues: https://texasguntrader.com/category/901/Handguns-for-Sale-Revolvers-for-Sale/listings/1418860/Dan-Wesson-44-MAG-Limited-Edition.html
What do you think?

I'm new to the Dan Wessons so what I think isn't very helpful. I did notice the cylinder blemishes and I don't know anything about the Chromium finishes. It does look in good shape and they only made 500. If it was 20 minutes away and I had any interest I'd go take a look. I almost passed on the 15-2 I bought because the pictures looked like it had rust pitting but it was dust and the finish was exceptional for a well used gun. I don't have any idea of pricing on a gun like that since I generally look for shooters for $300-600. I just passed on a 15-2 2 1/2" 357 for $550/no fees asking price the other day but it was a struggle. At 69 yrs old I should be downsizing not accumulating but that's easier said than done.

Haha, at 54 I think the same thing!
Regarding the early 44 in question, I would ask for a WHOLE lot more photos before I plunked down his asking price. The cylinder coating does look freckled, as Stonebuster said, and there may be more. Look for photos at the firing pin, top strap, closer looks at the barrel shroud & frame...just more pics in general before sending off 1K+ over the interwebz.

Yes, based on what I see in the pics, it seems to have condition issues, which seriously impacts its value as a collecter's gun. That ad has expired and it hasn't been relisted, but it still shows up if you click the link. I suspect the guy got no takers or he got offers significantly lower than his asking price.
