Man I almost bought the set, but no box or papers and already having a 744 I passed. I may go back and get the gun tomorrow if I feel up to it or can talk the wife into the buy. The set was two ported barrels and shrouds in V6 & V8 and then a 4" non ported. The ported barrels were SS and the 4" was blued. The problem was it was $799 IIRC and the guy would not budge and started to leave and saw a S&W 610 no dash 5" in very nice shape.
Now understand I have a 610-3 (10 mm 6.5") and have been wanting a pre-lock 610 4" model for couple years and have not seen one yet under a $1000 for the pre-lock models. But when I looked closer it was an early model with target hammer & trigger and was bright polished and had the FP on the hammer. So thinking I have one DW 744, 722( with mag cyl), 715 and 15 and I had to make a decision as to which one I wanted worse. The S&W I am ashamed to say won out, but I may go back tomorrow and buy the DW.
If anyone wants to know where the DW is at and I don't go get the gun I wqill post here.

Hey Waldo,
Was the 44 you looked at blued or stainless, just curious...
Sounds like you picked up a pretty cool Smith none the less. I spotted a 610 6" at a show recently for $700 IIRC which I thought was a good deal on that gun. Post some pics over in the "Other Brands" forum.
Let us know if you decide to get the 44!

That's a tough one, especially with one mis-matched barrel. The price isn't too far out of line, with the way prices are going lately, IMO. And if you do get it, RustyKnives has a Pac case for sale over in the sale section.
You could always sell off the blued barrel & recoup some of your money, then keep an eye out for another stainless one.
Decisions, decisions... 😛
