It's Sunday.  We're waiting for your report.  😉

Unfortunately I didn't make it to the range. It will be a couple of weeks now, since I'm turkey hunting next weekend.

Here is my report: I'm somewhat disappointed. frown

1. I didn't care for the flat black front sight, but this was not unexpected. My consistency just wasn't there with this sight so I purchased the red fiber front sight from the CZ store and of course it installed in 2 minutes. My shooting was definitely better with this sight.

2. The DA trigger pull, while short and light for a DA pull, is apparently too short and light and seems very inconsistent on the length of travel. I often have light firing pin strikes resulting in failure to fire. I tried loosening the grip screw with no improvement. If I loosen it any more the grips will flop loosely on the gun and be impossible to shoot.

3. I don't care for the hogue monogrips that come standard on the 715. They are too narrow and do little or nothing for recoil when shooting magnum loads. I have some nerve damage & need a wider & more recoil absorbing grip, like the Hogue Tamer that I have on my Ruger Match Champion. I can shoot the ruger till the cows come home with no pain but the Dan Wesson seems to drive the narrow part of the grip back into the web of my thumb and is fairly uncomfortable. Because there aren't a lot of aftermarket choices for Dan Wesson I will attempt to modify a set of grips. I'll let you know how that goes.

I'm hoping with some tweaks I'll be able to report that I like the revolver but so far, it's a distant second to my Match Champion with which I can shoot a ragged hole at 10 yards.

Suggestions on the light strikes would be much appreciated.

Regarding the light strikes...since backing the grip screw had no effect, you may want to take the side plate off & give the action a good scrubbing. There may be some gunk in there that's causing this.

I actually contacted Dan Wesson customer service and they think the gun has a head space issue & sent me a prepaid FedEx label & had me send it to New York for service. I was very pleased with their responsiveness & I'll let you know how it goes.

Light strikes are also an indication that the hammer spring was changed or cut to lighten the DA trigger pull.  The original owner might have made the adjustment. The factory will probably replace all springs as routine repair in order to be sure they are all original.

Good luck.

I thought about that but this gun looks to be stock & I sent an email to the original owner and he said he shot a few rounds, cleaned it & put it in the safe with no mods whatsoever.
